Good since the beginning of human history
Frankincense was used by the Ancient Egyptians in their religious rites. It was part of the sanctuary incense used by the Jews and is frequently mentioned in the Pentateuch. In the Christian tradition, Frankincense is one of the three gifts offered by the Magi to the baby Jesus . Pliny the Elder describes the characteristics of good quality Frankincense as an antidote against poisoning caused by hemlock. Iranian physicist Avicenna recommends it for a variety of diseases. In China and Asia in general it was used as internal and external medicine.

about A.D. 100 - FRANKINCENSE TRADE
Powerful empires have flourished from the Frankincense trade. The main route started from the port of Dhofar (now Oman) to the port of Qana (now Oman), then following a land route to Northern Arabia from where it was transported by ship to Europe.
Fatima and Stefano produce high quality aromatic products from Boswellia tree resins harvested by hand in northern Somalia (Somali Frankincense), the region where Fatima comes from. Thanks to Stefano's work as a geologist they have lived an adventurous life on many continents, from North Africa to South America, the US, the UK and most recently the Middle East. Now they have settled in Italy, on the hills off the Lake Garda, between Desenzano and Salò.
You can find more about their adventures in the book "No Safe Harbour“, available at your local Amazon provider, written by Stefano in 2020
